The godfather of the Azerbaijani Gitara, Rəhman Məmmədli, and his small ensemble just added an intimate last-minute show at Morphine Raum in Berlin on 08.06.2026 to their long overdue European tour. This story started shortly after the Iron Curtain came down, when kids in Azerbaijan picked up cheap electric guitars, mostly of Czech provenance, to transfer the quarter-tone madness of their various folk traditions onto these newfound instruments to create their own style of a musical underground.
