Chloe Lula presents her debut LP, Oneiris, on Subtext Recordings.

Berlin-based electronic musician and cellist Chloe Lula presents a live performance of her debut solo LP, Oneiris, on James Ginzburg’s Subtext Recordings.

After years of training at the San Francisco Conservatory, Chloe shifted away from classical music, immersing herself in experimental sounds and techno. Her work as a music journalist introduced her to artists like Hildur Guðnadóttir, who inspired her to return to her formative instrument and explore approaches informed by electronic and electro acoustic music. This record, a play on the word “oneiric,” represents both a confrontation with the haunting quality of the past, and a celebration of the feedback loops of inspiration that moving between musical forms and contexts can catalyse. She will perform the album as well as unreleased, improvised material.

She is joined by Franco-American experimental ambient musician NEXCYIA, who will perform an immersive piece using elements of noise, granular synthesis, found sounds and rhythms. The evening’s selector is Rami Abi Rafi, a Lebanese DJ and sound artist with residencies on Radio Alhara, Noods Radio and Cashmere Radio. The night will journey through instrumental music, electronics and beyond.
