MINA is an experimental meeting of polyrhythmic and abstract percussion with soundscape, synthesized waves and memories of traditional flamenco from the Iberian periphery. A band that works on deconstructing traditional songs through improvisation and instant de-composition from an experimental perspective, without losing the reference to flamenco.

An intermittent project based between Southern-Spain and Berlin in which Mamen Fernández, a singer from Cartagena, reveals a poetry and lyrics that explore the limits of voice, accompanied with “quebraos”. Andrés Navarro and Emilio Saura, bring free style percussion and extended techniques that nurture and break the traditional rhythms of Alejandro Solano’s yunque and cajón. Selu Herraiz introduces field recordings, synthesizers and self-made instruments, melting the sound into psychedelic atmospheres or noise structures.
