Morphine Raum,
Köpenicker Str. 147, 10997 Berlin
Hinterhof 1. Etage

This concert emerges after many conversations, a postponement and is now taking place as a cross border gathering of different sonic and musical worlds.

Nour Sokhon will present a solo set to open the night and will also be joined for a piece by Stefan on piano. This live duet takes place in the lead up to their first duet release, out soon on cassette via the Beirut based Ruptured Records.

Aidan Baker and Stefan Christoff will play a live public set for the first time, building off recording of a duet album last winter, released first in 2024 on Time Released Sound on vinyl (now sold out) and re-released recently on cassette by Cruel Nature Records in England. For this concert they will be joined by the wonderful Andy Aquarius on harp.

This event is about creating space to listen together and also to build community connections that celebrate the power of sound to travel across borders. The artists joining this event also are part of efforts in the arts that challenge how borders and their militarization undercut our collective understandings of solidarity in this era of immense neo-colonial violence.

Andy Aquarius is a sonic alchemist and devotee of mystical folklore. “Being a multi-instrumentalist and exploring a wide range of genres, he laid out the path ahead with his debut album ‘Chapel’, which only features his Celtic harp and voice. The record takes you on a ‘transcendental journey through the outer realms of ambient, classical, new age, and folk music.” –– Alex Ruder, Hush Hush/KEXP. Andy’s live performances are of a peaceful simplicity and thick atmosphere, putting all the intent towards a sincere delivery of his bucolic canticles and meandering instrumentals. https://www.andyaquarius.com

Aidan Baker is a Canadian musician living in Berlin making ambient/experimental/slowcore music, both solo & with such groups as Nadja, Hypnodrone Ensemble, & WERL. https://aidanbaker.bandcamp.com

Stefan is on the board of the Immigrant Workers Centre in Côte-Des-Neiges and works with Cinema Politica Network. Stefan is working with the Social Justice Centre at Concordia University.

Nour Sokhon is a Lebanese artist based between Beirut, Lebanon and Berlin, Germany.
