In the purely acoustic trio Marmalsana, guitarist Maurice Louca and bassist Tony Elieh hailing from Cairo and Beirut, respectively have found a unique blend of intercultural synergy together
with Berlin-based percussionist Burkhard Beins. They fuse melodic and rhythmic elements with extended playing techniques and the experimental use of object sounds to create their
structured improvisations of drones, textures, melody, and polyrhythms. With the exceptional Turkish vocalist Cansu Tanrikulu, this sonic world is now further expanded into the vocal and singing domain. The musical journey leads through Turkey into the Arab world, and finally circles back to the cultural melting pot of Berlin.
