Pleasure and repetition, declension of the word percussion, Marylou carves raw oneirism. Raised between forests and ocean in the south west coast of France, her first language is painting and cinema, both soaked in her deep passion for ethnology and traditional societies. It’s under her name that she opens the nets of her vast collection of records and sound crops, weaving her delicate mesh in between traditional music, bass, noise detonations, cloudy waters of psychedelic dubs or sinuous paths of improvised music and electronic avant-garde.
After teens years spent in the soundsystem and club culture in Bordeaux, later evolving in the classic jazz and club scene of Paris, as a writer and promoter. she started sharing tunes as a Rinse France resident, inviting guests as Steve O’Malley, Mike Cooper, DJ Pete, Waqwaq Kingdom, Kassem Mosse, together with deviering artworks for labels such as Mathematics or Lavibe. She now also operate at Cashmere Radio in Berlin, and appears on NTS, or Boxout India. Her creative and daring sense of selecting and djing is one of a kind.
She recently played at the Morphine Night at Berghain where she layered all sorts of unconventional and uncompromising beats in the most elegant way, or at Freerotation, Organik Festival, Intonal, CTM 2019 or the great Terraforma, after been regular at former parisian Concrete or La Station. Now based in Berlin, she performed as the best opened crowd OHM, Arkaoda or Sameheads.
