Various Artists, Beehyden, Sinopia, Contagious, Bagatelle
Acting as obtuse previews and refreshers, the four tracks range wildly in tone and aesthetics. Ambient maverick Sugai Ken follows up a string of remarkable releases with a fractal dissolution of MA’s Beehyden, forthcoming on doser035LP but here sounding like an exercise form the GRM or Radiophonic workshop, whereas Erika Sherman of Detroit legends Ectomorph extracts nine minutes of cranky electro-acoustic phantasms that sound a bit like Harry Bertoia playing a haunted Ford factory in her take on Upperground Orchestra’s Sinopia.

Inquisitive electronica artist Zoë McPherson follows 2018’s acclaimed String Figures LP with a gristly and furious future-primitive techno twist on Contagious, previewing their upcoming doser036LP, and Thomas Brinkmann pursues the mechanical muse of his recent and brilliant Raupenbahn album with a powerfully churning rhythmic noise remix of Stefan Fraunberger’s saxon church organ recordings found on Quellgeister3 — Boomkat
