Savanna Morgan and the Lovers is a fresh, new band based in the Berlin musical/cultural arts scene. Soon to reach your ears and music streaming channels, their Debut EP “Sweet Water.” Think what it would sound like if the smooth lyricism of “Who Is Jill Scott?”, the harmonies of “When I Get Home” by Solange and the raspy blues vocals of Koko Taylor all entered into a production room to create an album together. This eclectic group of musicians, varying in musical and cultural backgrounds, makes genre-bending music celebrating the traditions of blacktronica, jazz, r&b and neo-soul. This band is full of neo-traditionalist experimentalists with lead vocalist, songwriter, and band leader Savanna Morgan at the helm. Their memories of physical and metaphorical home(s), being Black and brown folks of various ancestral lineages and lived experiences, unites their musical practice as a band. This celebrates the diversity and inclusive message of black Diasporic music everywhere by utilizing the technology of radical love and calls to action via sonic contributions.
